Padel 22 was founded by former WADA, Commonwealth Games Federation and ATP-WTA Dubai Tennis Championships Media and Communications head, Ben Nichols

Thursday 19 January 2023, London, UK: The rising star of British men’s padel, Nikhil Mohindra has today joined forces with Padel 22, the new Global Communications Consultancy for what is widely considered the world’s fastest-growing sport. The 22year old recently moved to Alicante, Spain to train and compete alongside the world’s best players and pursue a career on the World Padel Tour.

Founded by Ben Nichols - who was formerly Group Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Commonwealth Games Federation and Chief Press Officer of the award-winning ATP and WTA Dubai Tennis Championships - Padel 22 was created to raise the sport’s profile and highlight its rapid rise outside of its traditional Spanish-speaking and Latin American heartlands.

On joining forces with Padel 22, Mohindra said: “Having recently moved to Spain to pursue my professional career, I’m excited to take this next step in my professional padel career as I look to use my own platform to grow the profile of this exciting sport at home and abroad. I look forward to working alongside the Padel 22 team to share my story to show people who are excited by this unique sport the work that goes on behind the scenes as I look to climb the world rankings and help bring the sport that’s already given me so much to others as well.”

Padel 22 Founder CEO, Ben Nichols added: “We are excited to be working with such an engaging, positive personality and exciting young talent in Nikhil. He’s already a well-established Team GB player with a big future ahead of him, and we can’t wait to see how he progresses as he trains with the world’s best following his move to the spiritual home of padel: Spain. As a relatively new sport to the majority of the world, and unlike their counterparts in the more traditional, mainstream sports such as football, golf and tennis, padel players rely heavily on utilising their own channels to build their brand and audience. We look forward to helping Nikhil communicate his story through the use of his own social channels, alongside traditional Public Relations as the mainstream media start to devote ever-more attention to this talk-of-the-town sport.”

In addition to working with professional players, Padel 22 supports clubs, brands and manufacturers, tournaments, federations, tours, sponsors and new investors into the sport and helps them address their communications objectives. Throughout its work, Padel 22 will highlight the sport’s distinct brand identity – its exhilarating, dynamic and inclusive credentials, the likes of which are unseen in other sports and which offer padel a unique opportunity to build upon its 25 million-plus international player base.
